This has nothing to do with retirement, but I thought I'd share this photo that I stumbled upon today while I was going through some old pictures. I tried to find this one last week for the post I wrote about getting hit in the head with the hockey puck.
This shot was a few years later (note me, behind the protective glass now). The way you can tell it's not the picture of me getting hit in the head with the hockey puck is that there are not gallons of blood spilling from my forehead.
On this night, one of the players hit a puck that arced out into the stands (rather than coming straight at me.) All the fans around me stood up to catch it. I of course ducked and covered, head in my lap, hands over my head. As everyone around me was looking to see where the puck landed, I felt it land right next to me, in my chair, next to my right hip. Karma, right?
